About Us
Our firm, which was originally established by John C. Horton, Architect in 1984, has been providing 35+ years of quality service in Sullivan County and the surrounding areas. In 2014, after the passing of John, the family formed Horton & Associates and in 2020 expanded to Horton • Malone Architecture welcoming Kevin L. Malone, Architect.
Here at Horton • Malone Architecture, we pride ourselves on developing well thought out designs that meet the needs of our clients and the community. We can work with our clients through all aspects of the building process, from simple design ideas all the way to the final stages of construction. Our work reflects an attention to detail and a high level of professionalism.
Our History
John C. Horton, Architect graduated from University of Buffalo in 1978 with his Bachelors in Architecture. After graduation he moved back to Wurtsboro, NY to pursue his architectural career. In 1984 after working for a local firm he took and passed his New York State licensing exam. In 1984 John opened up this firm and was able to continue to practice up until his passing in 2014.
After John's passing in 2014 the family decided to keep the business going in John's memory. In 2015 we welcomed the addition of Architect Kevin L. Malone. Kevin was also a graduate of University of Buffalo in 1999. In 2008 Kevin passed his New York State licensing exam.
